10 years and more than 1M invested in time/money/tech. We though we would sit down with Mr. Horn and discuss some high-level topics.
Let us know what you think in the comments:
Is the Amateur Motocross industry the place for this tech?
With our roots and passion for the sport, I think so. We need to increase the draw for tracks so that they have more revenue for equipment fixes and diesel. Around the nation there are hundreds of kids with amazing talent that just can afford the big show, I think our technology might offer a little exposure for those that can run up front and get to the podium speech. Our moto-family is out here to make memories and spend time together – we are here to catch some of it for them. Ya, I thinks it’s the perfect place.
Do you think there is enough value for marketing on the broadcast?
I think business are looking for a few things with marketing and as someone once said, “you have to stop telling people what to be interested in and start being what they are interested in”, LMTV provides that platform. On brand awareness I feel like the value is high as industry partners can create brand loyalty pretty quickly with newer riders. This pays dividends for the life. I could go on, but I think you see my point. We can do anything – my goal is to protect the broadcast and deliver the highest quality of professionalism with as few commercial pieces as possible.
You mentioned “archives” how does that work?
We shoot and switch the event live / lower thirds / transitions / commentary are all in the broadcast – this is, ultimately, a single data stream past the switcher. We simply record this to disk as it streams, strip any commercials out and make it available to members. It’s an exact duplicate of the LIVE broadcast.
